Chapter One

RoseMarie held the hand of her most beloved creation. Feeling the nearly flawless skin stretched across her daughter’s hand, from the palm to the tip of each finger. The folds of her palm telling the stories of love and loss, pain and joy, the prophecies of her life yet to occur. Her rose gold skin turning RoseMarie’s cheeks pink as she brought the hand closer to her face. Her creation standing at nearly 5 feet tall requires she bends over to kiss the slender fingers and nails painted in a slowly fading violet.

RoseMarie looked into her eyes…

Morally Incorrigible

Evil; a transcendent idea that humanity claims to understand. We often do that with transcendent ideas, such as justice and equality. But clearly we have no idea what we’re doing in that regard, otherwise we would no longer require constant protesting and petitions to get the record set straight. It’s a quality of humanity that I believe has been present from the start, aware to few, but there none the less. The quality to notice and identify these transcendent ideas, to present them to the masses in your, more or less honest, way. These individuals do so through…

  1. Catholicism stands at the precipice of life and death. Incentivizing a life of hope and passion for the lord above, requiring we face our heavenly relationship head on and with love. Yet the body we’ve been given is one of inherent sin and temptation. A constant plague on our very souls that we’re forced to fight against with every morsel of our body until we’re finally deemed able (though most likely unable) to enter the kingdom of heaven.
  2. “I thought you were the one I could trust.” The words spoken to me by my father after the first time I…

The red hue of light, easy on the eyes but painful on the mind; time’s almost up. The walls seem to close in, yet you still phase through them, entering the next world and pulling your hair out. Single strands at first, until you can no longer see your hands amidst the clutter of blood and hair. Meanwhile, the scum just sits there and stares blankly into your burning soul. …

Editting Needed

Editing is the crux of reality. We edit our lives to fit the bill and we edit the bill to fit our lives. We live for the moment and the moment is our life and without that connection there is no perception. We are ruled by the moment in hopes that one day we can seize it; but to seize isn’t enough. Without the awareness and participation of the world our own lives serve no purpose other than to buffer the lives of those more important.

Confessio a Morte

Hello everybody… heh, this is fucking crazy. Uhh, my name is Sebastian. I’m here today because I made a choice, but not just a choice for me. I.. I made a choice for somebody else as well (Although, I guess all choices impact somebody else in the grand scheme of things). It wasn’t my intention to go there and do what I did; fuck, it wasn’t my intention to even be there, but… You know, it’s not just me, people are always finding themselves in situations where they have no idea how they got there, who they’re…

Electum Mortem

Life boils down to one simple idea at the core of humanity: choice.

Choose to practice guitar; 40 hours a week is decent, if only we had that in a day. The beautiful protective coating surrounding those steel strings tears away at the skin on your fingertips, hardening and disfiguring the thin layers protecting your soul from the world around; but your skin doesn’t leave easy. It tears the coating off the steel leaving behind bare metal to fight with your flesh for years to come. …

Mors Errat

In the middle of a gas station parking lot at 2 am on a Saturday, Anthony’s empty body rests on it’s right side. The red that consumed his shirt is slowly pulling away, revealing the white cotton that once resided in its place. Below his head rests a lake of blood that flows up into his mouth like a serpent of life; while the ocean at his stomach seems to be shrinking by the second.

Twenty feet behind Anthony’s flowing body, an unknown man with scratches all over his head creeps backwards towards the body of Anthony. Just…

Oblivisci per Mortem

In a large white bed, Samuel’s body rests. He exists as a brittle and empty frame of what could’ve been; eyes finally closed in front of a mind that has been shuttered to the outside for over a decade.

With great irony, the prayer begins at the end. Quite the sense of humor for a God: the priest begins, “May the lord who frees you from sin save you and raise you up.” In that moment, a strange wind finds its way into Samuel’s lungs bringing his still body back into the world.

Samuel’s eyes slowly twitch…

Mors Impactae

Ramona’s empty body rests peacefully on the pavement beneath her; the warm asphalt taking her beating heart and leaving tingly red kisses across her arms and face. Crystal glass has just finished the trek into the depths of Ramona’s soul; now acting as windows into the empty husk that rests in the world. Through the millions of little things embedding themselves in her body, the deepest of the crystals reveals a spark of life deep down in the core of her being.

Ramona’s body begins to shake up and down for a short moment; an unseen force pulls…
