Apologies in the bright lights

A poem on abuse

Abusive
Translusive
Celebrate all your momentums

Passive
Intensive
Partake in all your delusions

Containment
Estrangement
Manipulate all the reasons

We could do this all day long
Lying in the vomit of a midnight fog
Singing pretty little songs
Hypnotizing all year long

A ribbit stuck in the throat
A scared and rashy little frog
A wound rotting in the soak
A dream of the future stuck in the bog

The End

A stunted progress
Lossless meaning of the process

It starts

Smoke a bowl
In the car
Wait for her

Hide what you feel
Smoke one more
Wait for her

Head in the clouds
A hit up the snout
Wait for her

Forget all your pouts
Once more through shouts
Wait for her

Were they good to you?
No

Were they good to them?
No

Were they good for us?
No
Oh God
Fuck no

Yet those truths disappear
Through the emotional disrepair
Forgetful dreams in the nightmare
While you wait for her here

Keys in the ignition
High beams in the separation
Brain chained by dissociation
Once more into the lungs dear friend

While you wait for her
All you thought could be saved for her
All that was ripped away by her
A cloud of memories dry the tears for her

Escape is just a twist away
A breath is left to be taken away
Your life is left to fade away

A knife in the back
Or an intentional car crash

SMASH

CRASH

BANGERS AND MASH

The meal she feeds you
Is poisoning the soul inside you

Once more for the black parade
Once more for the serenade
Once more for love’s hand grenade

Not a moment to spare
Get out before you’re fully ensnared

I can’t complain
It could’ve been much worse
At least I got out
Left without the insane

I can’t complain
I can also be a drain

I can’t complain
It’s not like I’ve lost
It’s not like we played a game

I can’t complain
It’s not like I stayed
