Smoothly reminiscing on what it used to be like when we were free
Moments of bliss captured in time, frozen amidst the hum of brighter stars

Somewhere out beyond the stars rests a land of beginnings and ends
Where time holds no power over the bounds of life

As we drift onward
Towards that perpetual descent
Uncontrolled in our attempts at grace
Don’t forget to turn the dashboard lights on

For a journey basked in darkness leads only to a plummet
Encouraged by each advancing step on the ladder of life

When the lights do click on
When we’re left with no glooming signs
And the surgeon tells us all is well

Any trace of sorrow fades away
As our song plays and your lyrics fade
I bring with it a new sound
Cool and untethered to meaning

A drum kicks with no intent
Echoing the creation of our worlds
The strings ring with a painful sting
Fleeing at the first sight of intent

We both look at the North Star
Alone voice coming from afar

The long dark holds many secrets
Just as we start to get scared

The choir starts to sing

When the lights go out and our sound can no longer be heard
Drift with me just a little longer
For this journey is growing cold and
I’m not sure if I can make it alone

All else fades to black
